Grigsby of Hillsboro, Virginia is a self-described “long time libertarian activist, formerly a ‘liberal’ one.” He is founder of the Northern Virginia Tea Party and says his mission is to “replace the GOP establishment .” He is a vigorous supporter of Ron Paul’s presidential campaign. Grigsby says the Texas Congressman “is imperfect, like all people, but Ron Paul and Gary Johnson are my two top choices, and I’m grateful for them.”

Editorial Note: Stormy Luttrell Jackson of Marco Island, Florida is an active member of the isolationist Constitution Party, and a vigorous supporter of Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign. She says “I will defend Ron Paul to the end, this man makes sense. . . The war-mongering George W. Bush wouldn’t negotiate peace. He didn’t want Osama bin Laden. He wanted Afghanistan!”’
Jackson, 47, describes herself as “very stubborn and determined. If I believe in something and do not agree with you, I will argue my point to the end.”

Round Two: Diane Olson of the Tea Party vs. Gregg Hilton

Editorial Note by Gregg Hilton: This second debate between Diane Olson and Gregg Hilton focuses on the relationship between the Tea Party movement and the Republican Party. Republicans appreciate and admire the activities of various Tea Party organizations, but a few Tea Party leaders, including Diane Olson, want to wage war on the GOP. The Tea Party and the Republican Party have been in complete cooperation since the election. There is no battle, and both groups are conservative and share the same agenda. Nevertheless, Diane believes Republicans should be harshly criticized. In the first debate I tried to ignore her personal attacks, but this time I did not.

He previously served as GOP Political Director for Clark County. His past clients include Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) and Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA). He was named Clark County Republican of the Year for his work on the 2004 Bush/Cheney campaign. In 2010 he served as the campaign manager for Congressional candidate Michele Fiore (R-NV), and has considerable experience in coping with a Nevada GOP which has been fractured, outnumbered and outspent by Democrats.

Diane Olson of Rochester, Minnesota is an activist in the Tea Party movement. She has visited many foreign nations and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Diane graduated with honors from the University of Iowa. In addition to her political activities, she is a Chief Engineering Manager. For the last seven years she has been IBM\’s only female \”Master Inventor.\” In this role she has provided technical briefings for U.S. Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar, both Minnesota Democrats.

Antone Blansett of Springdale, Arkansas is a libertarian supporter of Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), and is an active member of his Campaign for Liberty. He refused to support the 2008 McCain/Palin ticket because “A vote for McCain is just another vote for Obama with about 8 years of delay. I want a real change!” He served as a Staff Sergeant in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Debate: Oil and the Iraq War – Reed Clifton vs. Gregg Hilton

Reed Clifton of Portland, Maine is a professional musician concentrating on folk, country and blues. He was born in northern New Jersey. He describes his hometown as a “New York City suburb/inner city ghetto, and spent much of his early life as a product of his environment. After cleaning up his life he attended college in California’s San Joaquin Valley. In college he began frequenting country music clubs such as Trouts in the Oildale section of Bakersfield, and his love and appreciation of country music grew.” He describes his philosophy of life by saying: “Some folks journey’s take them on sidewalks, mine goes over Everest. Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Below are excerpts of my debate on foreign policy issues with recording artist Barry Donegan, a self-described “Ron Paul Republican”. I am glad he supports free trade, but like many libertarians I still believe they are best described as isolationists. The discussion began because of my support for staying the course in Afghanistan.
